Jane had a dream to find a cure for cancer so others didn’t have to be in pain. Before she died, she shared a wish that her legacy would continue in many ways, one of that being a 5K event. The Princess Warrior Run, Walk, Roll, Stroll or Crawl is a Jane-like way to make her dream of a 5K and her dream of finding a cure for cancer a reality.
Our Princess Warrior 2020 Virtual 5K is finally here!! For all of you planning to Run, Walk, Roll, Stroll or Crawl again or if this is a new tradition - we are glad you are here!! Registration is only $20 and includes this year’s newly designed t-shirt by Wadena resident Lori Kneisl!
This year’s VIRTUAL 5K allows you to run, walk, roll or stroll on your own time and on your own trail, route or treadmill. You have the entire month of September to share your race experience with us - maybe you will consider kicking off Childhood Cancer Awareness Month by completing your event on September 1st or maybe you would rather celebrate Jane’s birthday on September 27th! Whenever you decide to join us - we love it!
Even in a pandemic, we come together to raise awareness for our kiddos fighting childhood cancer. By participating in the Princess Warrior event you will be helping us raise awareness of childhood cancer and supporting the Princess Warrior Foundation where proceeds are used to honor kiddos, award grants to families with children in treatment, distribute care packages to cancer families, give away scholarships and to support LLS (Leukemia and Lymphoma Society) and CureSearch.
Oh … and p.s. Don’t forget your tiara!!
Jane Fiemeyer, a vibrant second-grader at Wadena-Deer Creek Elementary School was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of seven. She fought hard, but sadly the bully won and Jane went to paint and dance with the angels in heaven on September 6, 2012 – less than a month from her ninth birthday.
